Trip Details

Annapurna Circuit Trek is beautiful and diverse classic route of Nepal. This Trek also known as Thorong La Pass Trek (5,416 m / 17,769 ft) invites you to explore nature, landscape, people, religion, culture and majestic view of the ice coated Annapurna Himalaya.

Annapurna region is unique place for flora and fauna with beautiful high mountains. Annapurna region is concerned as world’s most exciting and visually spectacular treks.

Annapurna region is the most ethnically and geographically diverse region. We will pass the many old villages where we will get opportunity to learn their daily activities, people and culture. In this trip we will see Buddhist monument, prayer flags, Stupas, Chortens, Monasteries, temples, prayer wheels and memorial places.

We will start this trek from lower valley of Marshyangdi river and gradually we gain altitude to the ultimate height of 5,416 m in Thorong-la Pass top. After crossing Thorong-la pass, we will descend down comparatively faster along the Kaligandaki River Valley. We will pass villages Muktinath, Jomsome, Marpha and many more. Muktinath is popular pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhist.

Mountain and valley views are constantly changing. Annapurna Circuit Trek begins with breezy terraces of diverse vegetation in Marsyangdi valley and leads to the different landscape into the rain shadow part of the Himalayas.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft above sea level), transfer to hotel

Welcome to Nepal Himalaya, we meet in Kathmandu airport and will be transferred to your hotel. Ace Hiking offers welcome dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at hotel, dinner included.

Day 2Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour will start after breakfast. We will visit four UNESCO world heritage sites. Heritage site tour includes the Pashupatinath temple, Boudha Stupa, Swoyambhu stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. You will get opportunity to obsearve historical, religious and cultural aspect of Nepal. You will also see Nepalese architecture containing palaces, buildings, temples, Stupas, carving, mason and metal work. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 3Drive from Kathmandu to Beshisahar (850 m / 2,790 ft) and drive to Jagat (1,300m / 4,265ft)

After breakfast at hotel, we will drive to Beshisahar and again drive to Jagat. The road is good until Beshisahar, after Besisahar the road is rough bumpy and dusty. This is long drive about 10 hours. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 4Trek from Jagat to Dharapani (1,860 m / 6,102 ft) 5-6 hours

We will cross the Marshyandi River nearby Chamje village. We have to cross several time bridges over the Marshyandi River. We will pass Tal village, Karte, Dharapani and Bagarchhap. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 5Dharapani to Chame (2,670 m / 8,760 ft) 5 - 6 hours

The way is up from Danaqu to Timang village. Timang village is beautiful and good view of Mt. Manaslu (8163 m). After Timang village, the way is straight, a little, down and short up to Koto. The Koto is gateway to Nar-Phu valley trek. We may reach after 45 min to Chame village. Chame is big village and district headquarters of Manang district as well. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 6Chame to Pisang (3,200 m / 10,490 ft) 5 - 6 hours

This day begins with crossing the Marshyandi River by suspension bridge. We will see good Mountain View of Lamjung Himal and lower ridge of Annapurna II. We will pass long Mane wall and Bratang village, Dhikur Pokhari (lake) and will reach Pisang village. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 7Pisang to Manang (3,540 m / 11,615 ft) 6 - 7 hours

Today is good excursion day. We will trek to Manang through the alternative route, longer route passing Ghyaru and Ngawal village. Ghyaru and Ngawal villages are very old in traditional structure with the panoramic view of Annapurna and Gangapurna. Manang is a big village with facilitated lodge and restaurant. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 8Acclimatization day

Acclimatization day is to be fit to encounter Thorong-la pass at 5416 meters. We will have day trip around Manang. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 9Manang to Yak Kharka (4,050 m / 13,280 ft) 3 - 4 hours

The trail is up to Tanki village. Tanki is the last village to Thorong-la top. The way is gradual up mostly flat way from Tanki to Yak Kharka. Yak Kharka means pasture land for Yak. We can see many yaks. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 10Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,450 m / 14,590 ft) 3 - 4 hours

Way is slightly up to Ledar. After Ledar, the way is mostly straight with short down and up. Today, probably we may see wild animal Blue Sheep. We will reach Thorong Phedi or Thorong base camp for lunch and overnight. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 11Thorong Phedi to Muktinath (3,800 m / 12,467 ft) via Thorong La pass (5416m / 17780ft) 7 - 8 hours

Today is comparatively difficult and long day of this trip. We will start early in the morning with head light. Phedi means bottom of the hill. The very beginning trail is steep up for an hour to high camp and gradual up and up to Thorong-la top. It takes 4 hours from Thorong Phedi (4550 meters) to Thorong-la top at 5416 meters. After reaching top, we will have some snap capture and 4 hours descent to Muktinath. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 12Muktinath to Jomsom (2,720 m / 8,924 ft) 5 - 6 hours

Today we walk mostly along the road with frequently moving vehicles. We will visit an old beautiful historical place Kagbeni on the way. Trail is windy and we follow to Kaligandaki River. Jomsome is big village. Jomsom is dministrative center of Mustang district. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 13Drive from Jomsom to Pokhara (820 m / 2,690 ft)

We will take bus or Jeep to Pokhara. The rough and bumpy road makes different experience. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 14Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)

Today in the morning we get tourist bus for Kathmandu. Ace Hiking offers farewell dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at hotel, breakfast and dinner included.

Day 15Departure to international airport

Today you grab last minute shopping or other activities. We will drop you at the Kathmandu international airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight. We will say goodbye with happy memories and hoping to see you again. Breakfast included.
