Trip Details

Pikey Peak (Everest View) Trek is a lower altitude trail in the Everest region. We will hike along the ridge and saddle, passing through colorful rhododendron, pine, and maple forests. Along the way, we can observe local Sherpa culture and the view of the long northern Himalaya range, from Kanchanjunga to Annapurna Mountain. Besides mountains, we can see yak farms, flora and fauna, hills, and different landscapes from the very first day to the last day. This Everest View trek is suitable for those who are unable to go to high altitudes because it is shorter in terms of duration, easier in terms of altitude, quieter in terms of the number of visitors, and cheaper. This is an off-the-beaten-trail through the Sherpa village, where we can see many traditional entities and the Everest view.

The highlights of the Pikey Peak Trek are the Everest view and the Sherpa village. The Pike Peak Trek starts from Dhap Bazaar. We will take a private vehicle from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar for a comfortable trip. Dhap is a beautiful and breezy mountain-view hill. Our trail descends to Sigane and ascends to Jhapre village, a small mountain-view point. After Jhapre, the trail gradually ascends along the ridge to Bhulbhule, Lamuje, and Pikey Base Camp. We hike to Pikey Peak for sunrise, valley view, and Mountain Views.

From Pike Peak, we can see Kanchenjunga Mountain (8,586 m / 28,170 ft) in the far east, Mt. Everest (8,848 m / 29,029 ft), Lhotse (8,516 m / 27,940 ft), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m / 27,766 ft), and Annapurna (8,091 m / 26,545 ft) in the far west.

During this trip, we will visit Junbesi village, a big Sherpa village. After Junbesi, we further climb to the popular monk and nun settlement Thupten Choling Monastery. We will observe the Buddhist religious practice of monks and nuns. Our trek ends at Phaplu, and we will drive or fly back to Kathmandu.

By merging the natural beauty of the Himalayas and the cultural ethos of the local Sherpa community, this trek creates an unforgettable experience.
