Lower Dolpo and Phuksumdo Lake at present is getting popular due to its remoteness and on the Ringmo village near Phuksumdo Lake joining the Lower Dolpo route from Dunai and Jhupal town. This trek is easily accessible with Nepalgunj to Jhupal flights. This trek is rated as one of the moderate to adventurous and scenic trekking among other trekking destination.

Lower Dolpo and Phuksundo Lake leads through many traditional Magar, Thakuri (Chettri) and Dolpo’s Bhotia villages famous as traders with Tibet since many centuries.

This remarkable trek starts with a scenic flight to southern city at Nepalgunj and another short flight to Jhupal in Dolpo area near Dunai far North West Nepal. And then trek to scenic picturesque turquoise Phokshumdo lake at near Ringmo village and then heading higher at Baga-la pass at 5, 070 m and towards Tokyu Gaon via Jeng la 5,090 m, Dho Tarap 4,040 m and to Tarakot, the highest point of this journey crossing of Numa-la at 5,190 m, and slowly with scenic walk reaching at Tokyu gaon, Tarakot and then at Dunai for short drive to Jhupal and then fly back to Kathmandu through Nepalgunj.

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft above sea level), transfer to hotel

Welcome to Nepal Himalaya, we meet in Kathmandu airport and will be transferred to your hotel. Ace Hiking offers welcome dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at hotel, dinner included.

Day 2Morning sightseeing tour, afternoon flight to Nepalgunj

Day 3Fly to Jhuphal 2,320m then drive to Dunai 2,850m

Day 4Trek to Ankhe 2,896m – 6 hrs

Day 5Trek to Sumdu / Sulighat village 3,500m -6 hrs

Day 6Trek to Phokshundo Lake 3,500 m – 5 hours

Day 7Rest day at Phokshundo Lake for local excursion

Day 8Trek and cross Baga La 5,070m and camp 4,470 m – 6 hrs
